So what does that look like?
Health Coaching - I help you feel empowered that you control your health, not it controls you. Knowing what to do each day will start to feel simple and mindless and not be a source of stress. There is a concept called bio-individuality where what works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another. To do this, we explore your symptoms and how various inputs make you feel, instead of just disassociating with our bodies as society has conditioned us to do. But symptoms are our greatest gift, they point us in the direction we need to go. I teach you how to reconnect so instead of seeing symptoms as annoyances to get rid of, you see them as a roadmap guiding you to what your body and mind need.
To achieve this, we use my approach -- The 5 Divide – focusing on optimizing stress, sleep, nutrition, movement, and our environment to achieve optimal health
Functional Medicine – sometimes health coaching around the 5 Divide gets us to where we want to be and nailing those foundations is transformative. But sometimes it isn’t enough and that is where my training in functional medicine comes in. Maybe we need to dig deeper to determine your unique root cause. Instead of looking at symptoms as an issue to treat within that single system, functional medicine looks at the body as a whole where all the symptoms are really just pointing to a connected and undiscovered root cause. Once we address that is when we bring the entire body back into balance.
(Working in tandem with a FM doctor, we focus on specialty testing, targeted high quality supplements, and a protocol for you to follow, in addition to supporting the 5Divide)

Kara Becker, MA, CIHC, BCC is a passionate and dedicated Functional Medicine Health Coach with a mission to empower individuals to take control of their health and well-being. With a background in holistic wellness and a deep understanding of the root causes of chronic conditions, Kara guides her clients toward sustainable lifestyle changes tailored to their unique bio-individuality. Through her personalized coaching approach, Kara blends science-based functional medicine principles with compassion and practical strategies. She also holds an MA in organizational psychology from Columbia University, Teacher's College and a BA in psychology from the University of Michigan.
